Support Systems International, Inc.

Support Systems International, Inc., (SSI), is a privately held company specializing in the rapid development of business applications. SSI's mission is to:

Provide our clients with pragmatic solutions to their business
Information needs through advancing new and proven technologies

SSI was founded and incorporated in June of 1993 and recently celebrated its fifth year of profitable operations. At the time of incorporation, the company purchased from the Alerion corporation the rights to the software of a workers compensation program and hired the development staff that was located in Elkton, Maryland. Concurrent with the purchase of the system, SSI signed a contract for the on going support of the system with the co-developer of the software, the Pacific Rim Assurance Company.  The new system, CompSupport™, developed by the Elkton staff provided Pacific Rim with the capability to improve customer service, re-engineer their business processes and reduce fixed costs.

Important to the client was that the development of CompSupport was completed in less than fourteen months. During development various modules were installed upon completion, facilitating a phased implementation approach that enabled Pacific Rim to quickly realize the system benefits.  At go live, there were 400+ users defined to the system with an average of 190 concurrent sessions.

In the Spring of 1993, SSI outsourced Pacific Rim’s entire MIS operation, ultimately taking over all responsibilities for hardware, telecommunications, PC help desk, computer center operation and support and maintenance of the recently installed CompSupport product.

This significant beginning for SSI has lead to several other implementations at various workers compensation insurance companies for the DOS version of the CompSupport product.

In the fall of 1996, SSI began the journey into the research and development of the Windows version of CompSupport.  SSI took all of the existing business knowledge it had developed for it's first version of the product and went to the next level for the application.  SSI set a goal to produce a 32 bit GUI application with multiple quoting functionality and a multiple-state rules-based engine for the processing of financial data, auditing, collections and billing of policies.

During this time, SSI also committed to other projects.  These ventures were far different from the insurance applications that had been its focus during the past several years.  SSI partnered with several other businesses to provide business solutions for systems such as: airline reservations, data imaging and viewing, and business management systems.  In 1998, former President Ron Peri founded Radixx Solutions, Inc. which purchased the airline reservations software from SSI.

In July of 1998 Mrs. Georgianna Flanagan, already a director, was elected President of Support Systems International.

SSI intends to enhance the current Windows based CompSupport product to work with SQL databases, include Internet functionality and migrate to a component based architecture so that other products can reap the benefits of the applications engines.
